I'll start with the positives, the service was really good as well as atmosphere of the place. The food however, was really disappointing. We had a Ramen itch & it didn't scratch it at all. I got to shoyu Ramen, which after the first few bites tasted good enough cause I was hungry, but as I got to the middle of the bowl, I felt like the broth was subpar in terms of quality. My wife got the miso Ramen with salmon cutlet (which could've been our fault in retrospect) which completely disintegrated into the miso broth creating this weird lumpy, salty soup…
Maybe the izakaya next door is worth a try instead 👍🏽
We had miso & shoyu ramen plus karaage & pork shumai. Ramen soup was legitimately tasty & very generous amount excellent quality shiitake mushroom. The three slices of chashu were succulent (the fat melts in your mouth), thick & the most generous we have ever seen. You don't need to add extra! Unfortunately, the noodle was over cooked. The karaage was unfortunately hard & dry (note they put lots of white mayo sauce on top - no mention on menu). Pork shumai was tasty but didn't expect them to come sitting in a sauce (no mention on the menu).
I ordered the basic Shoyu ramen. Was I ever surprised. It was the best ramen I've had since Tokyo trip. It was just enough spice, salt & surprisingly a healthy portion of thick cut pork. Sooo good!!
A small, cozy restaurant. Their ramen was amazing. The noodles had the right texture, & I loved the flavor of the shoyu ramen. It had an umami taste, with just the right amount of savory & light sweetness. They added unique ingredients like lettuce & red pickles, which surprisingly complemented each other well. It was totally worth the long wait.
My friend & I were in Quebec City for a few days & were looking for just some great food & we stumbled upon this restaurant. This was truly an insane experience. Everything from the cocktails to the appetizers, the branding to the ramen itself. I love ramen so much & am rather picky but the Shoyu ramen was heavenly-& a perfectly soft-boiled egg too. The kimchi was the first thing we got & I was BLOWN away. Not too spicy, mild sweetness-marvelous. But the drinks.... I had the Sesame Street Boulevard & the Sapporo with Yuzu. Both were fantastic. The cocktail was perfectly balanced with the bite of the martini bitters & the savory aspect of the sesame oil. The Sapporo was a wonderfully refreshing contrast to that drink that paired perfectly with the ramen. My friend & I were so impressed that we bought some of the merchandise-it's also very great branding so that's a plus. May come back to Quebec City just for this meal.
Ordered a Shoyu ramen with a delectable broth with ginger - the flank pork was well grilled & tasty. A really great spot for lunch - & the music is really cool as well - currently playing MorMor...
Bouillon shoyu vraiment trop salé, à tel point que je n'ai pas pu tout finir. Bon oeuf tamago. Le Karaage était aussi super bon. Par contre, le cocktail en cannette goûtait le sirop médicamenteux. Je n'y reviendrai pas. Pour avoir goûté à ceux du ramen Isshin à Montréal, j'avais de grandes attentes de ce resto de ramen à Québec. Bref, j'ai été déçue.
