Great Quebecois restaurant, so good for brunch & top atmosphere & delicious food. We were actually recommended to by a random couple in the tobogganing line. What stood out above all else was the service - although super busy they did their absolute best to seat us & accommodate our quick visit (we had a flight to catch). Truly impressed! Thank you!!

amazing traditional quebecois restaurant. my boyfriend & i got the cabane a sucre plate to share with an extra french toast & it was the best brunch i've ever had. incredibly balanced between salty & sweet. the ambiance is great too. 10/10 recommend & i made a reservation beforehand which was good during peak brunch hours.
Food was good! (At least what we ate)
Service was amazing. They have accommodated all our desires & gave us a lot of good impressions!
However, I still think its little bit overrated,
probably because of the New Year's season!
Overall I would still recommend to visit!
An urban sugar shack in the heart of Old Quebec? Mais oui! It was fabulous! We went New Year's Day (highly recommend to get reservations in advance so you do not wait in the cold), & the atmosphere is so warm & inviting, you feel immediately at home! It was very kind that they tend to seat visitors in the rooms away from the frigid air...if you come in the front door, the first two rooms are a bit chilly, so they tend to put visiters in the warmer rooms of the restaurant out of the cold! Very kind! The pea soup is extraordinary, you must try, the shepherd pie is very tasty & a generous portion, if you are not four people, I recommend the mini-version of the sugar shack plate complete with Canadian bacon, sausages, crepe with maple butter & blueberries, scrambled eggs, beans, a really good breakfast meatball, & much more! A band played music quebecoise. It was amazing. You can even get maple taffy that you make on an ice top bar. Make sure to check it out, & next door is their gift shop where you can take home Karibou wine & fun souvenirs! A must-see!
This was my second time visiting La Buche & it was just as great as the first time. I was really impressed with the service. We went on New Year's Day & the place was packed, one of the members of our group was running late therefore we had to wait to order. The staff did not make a big deal, they never put pressure on us to start ordering & they were very forgiving about the situation. The food was delicious, I highly recommend this place if you're a tourist & would like to taste classic Québecois dishes. They also offer a sugar shack experience all year round ! One of my favorite restaurants 😊
We went there for brunch &, although the wait time was short, we had to stand outside on the street, which was really cold-but it was absolutely worth it. The décor was fascinating; I loved every corner of the place. Even the washrooms were completely different from any restaurant washrooms we've seen before.
The staff were very friendly, & the food was excellent. The crêpes were delicious, & the lumberjack skillet is a must-try. The drip coffee was tasty as well.
From the moment I walked in, I knew there was something truly special about this spot & it did not disappoint. The interior alone left me speechless: incredibly creative décor with antlers & skis hanging from the ceiling, & even a bathtub sink in the restroom that made the whole experience feel fun & unforgettable.
The customer service was just as impressive; warm, welcoming, & genuinely friendly from start to finish. The food was excellent, perfectly prepared, & clearly made with care. & as if it couldn't get any better, the coffee was free, which was such a nice & unexpected touch.
This place is definitely popular, so be prepared for a long line if you don't snag a reservation but it's absolutely worth the wait. An unforgettable breakfast experience that I can't recommend enough!
