Review Summary

La Nouvelle France receives mixed feedback, with many visitors praising the beautiful atmosphere, the ideal location near the Château Frontenac, and the pet friendly policy. The French onion soup is a frequent highlight, often described as delicious and comforting, while other patrons enjoy the diverse menu options, including gluten free and vegetarian choices. However, opinions on food quality and value are inconsistent, as some guests find the meals overpriced or underwhelming compared to expectations. While many reviews emphasize the warm, accommodating service provided by the staff, a few customers have expressed discomfort regarding the pressure placed on them concerning gratuities during the payment process.

Nothing overly special but great service & I like how this place is a little hidden. Patio is big & the staff are wonderful. Meal was decent but for the price, you can go somewhere else for a better meal. Plenty of options around. The highlight is the dog bowl food but it was $8 CAD for chicken breast.

This is in the artist alley close to the tourist information center. Very quiet & lovely relaxing location. Super wait staff. Outdoor patio with heaters. Good place to relax after touring & walking all day.

The location is quaint & service was very pleasant. I'd recommend the Elk Stew but not the Quebec tortiere as it is not authentic. Otherwise a very nice experience for patio dining in the evening. Away from the masses of people walking along the other streets

Average food. Super friendly wait staff. Dog friendly (one of the very few patios in Quebec City old town that are). Nice quiet patio tucked away in busy lane way.

Delicious food with a good variety of Québecois classics. Beautiful patio & location to complement the food. Servers were very friendly & made us feel at home. I love that they had a dog meal on the menu to make the meal a special outing for our four-legged friends as well.
