Also great choices of the sommelier on the accompanying discovery wines (& surprises). Superb service by people that care. A great experience, highly recommended.
Good food but it is expected for the price paid. The wine pairing is expensive compared to other restaurants of the same quality. Would likely try another restaurant next time in Quebec City.
Outstanding. The staff were attentive but not pretentious. They were friendly, unassuming, & seemed to enjoy providing a noteworthy experience. Each course was visual art, & the taste was complex. The ingredients complemented the protein but did not overpower it, Wine pairings were very good, some lesser known wines & some famous ones. Overall a memorable experience.
Everything was excellent - the wine pairing made the food even better. 5 stars from start to finish!
Michelin Star well deserved. Delicious food, amazing service, the perfect night with my love. Well explained wine pairings that complemented the dishes perfectly. We even had the opportunity to speak to chef. A perfect evening.🫶🍷🍽👀
Absolutely incredible experience. The servers were all amazingly knowledgeable in both the food & the wine. Presentation was gorgeous, as was the food itself.
Wonderful restaurant. Greeted by chefs as we entered through the kitchen. Knowledgable server who was also our informed sommelier. Amuse bouche & foie gras courses were the best. Two main courses were excellent but really the dinner's first elements were most creative. Chocolate last course also amazed. The wait staff were friendly, warm, & knowledgable. We & next table were celebrating birthdays & we kept hearing about this for them but not for us, which felt awkward. I often find that wait staff work more to impress diners their own age & treat older couples tenderly but with distance, but it is we who likely have sampled dozens & maybe hundreds of michelin star restaurants & have run ( & sometimes run down) the world ;-). Wine list impressive & our waiter found us a less common wine from the south of france which was special. Overall, a truly excellent restaurant which has a well earned star.
My colleague & I were in Quebec City for work & decided to have dinner at Laurie Raphael. From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect. Service was top notch, staff were knowledgeable & excited to tell us about the cocktails, the various courses & the wine pairings. The chartreuse cocktail was second to none. Aside from being the most beautiful edible art, the food was excellent. While difficult to select a favourite dish, the scallops & beet dishes really stood out for me. Beautiful & delicious. Honourable mention: the strawberry dessert. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
A special evening that showcased the best that Quebec has to offer. A gastronomic delight with each course bringing a surprise to the eyes & palate. Worthy of every cent. The staff was professional & well trained. Each explanation of a dish or of the wine was a story that unfolded along with the courses. Pairings were sublime.
Some brilliant dishes, some so-so. They very much move at their own pace. After three times we were virtually pleading to see menus. Can't pin it down but somehow we didn't have a comfortable feeling ... apart from the cheers of hello as we entered through the kitchen. It felt rather as if we were part of a machine which even hindered staff. Did NOT like the attempt to upsell a glsss of wine to $45. Three courses, two martinis & two cheaper glasses of wine, plus tax & tip were nearly $500. Poor value.
