Discovered Le Clan on a top restaurant list & loved the focus on local ingredients (where each product comes from). Upon arrival, you immediately get a glimpse of the kitchen which was really cool. The dining area is upstairs, making you feel like you are walking into a private club - like you are part of the clan. We debated between the four & six course preset menu & ultimately went with the six. Glad we made the decision as our two favourites would not have been part of the four. Did not do the wine pairing, opted to pick our own bottle as I don't enjoy very many types of wine. We also started with a couple cocktails (old fashioned & a dirty Martini) & both were very good. Every dish was amazing. Cooked perfectly, well balanced, with a lot of ingredients we had never had before (ie seal & algae). With that said, none were intimidating & all were thoroughly explained by our server. The service from Johnathan & the rest of the staff was top notch - they were very attentive & made us feel comfortable the whole time. We had new utensils for every dish, plates were cleared away, wine glasses filled before new dishes came out etc. Attention to detail was obvious. Would highly recommend Restaurant Le Clan & will try to come back during another visit to Quebec City. PS. Make sure you try out the cool bathrooms.
Ce restaurant est maintenant la plus belle expérience que j'ai eu dans la ville de Québec. Nous avons souvent des repas d'affaires avec les clients. Nous avons été franchement impressionnés par les plats recommandations & attentions des serveurs. Nous avons eu des plats surprenants comme du phoque, homard, crabe des neiges & toutes sortes de sauces super bien agencées avec leur plat. Tous des produits du Québec & il y a de quoi être fier. Les viandes étaient cuites à la perfection. Le pré-dessert & le dessert nous ont pris par surprise. Tellement que nous faisions des blagues sur la probabilité d'un post-dessert. Un serveur passait & nous avait entendu blagué. Ils sont venus nous revoir avec un post-dessert préparé dernière minute. Nos clients étaient énormément impressionnés.

What an incredible experience! Everyone who works here is passionate about the culinary experience they're delivering. Our server was also the Sommelier, & although we didn't get the wine pairing, I listened in on her storytelling several times; she was lovely. We got the six course tasting & a bottle of wine, & it was a joy. I love the concept of the restaurant, I felt like I learnt more about my country through that experience than a day in a museum & I tried several things I had never had before. I won't share any photos until this review has sufficiently aged, so as not to spoil the surprise! Thank you for the amazing dinner! 10/10 would recommend!
Le Clan Un accueil chaleureux, surtout le privilège de pouvoir rencontrer le chef Stephane Modat. Un menu de choix, des plats uniques & exquis, une recommandation de vin pile, le service attentif & super professionnel de Maggie. Une touche particulière pour mon anniversaire. Un cadeau de pain Borderon à l'eau de mer spécialement emballé par Guillaume. Bref une qualité rarissime de nos jours. Une véritable famille! Nous avons tout aimé & nous recommandons fortement cet endroit pour une expérience culinaire inoubliable.
Highlight of our visit to Quebec City & that says a lot!! 6+ course tasting is an epic adventure in culinary expertise. Service was unbelievably attentive, courteous & personable.( Like being on top chef without all the drama.) Le Clan is what gastronomy is all about & worth every penny. I would highly recommend the visit.
Incredible experience at Le Clan. Amazing food, well curated, balanced 6-course dinner... delicious cocktails & great wine selection... then there's the quaint yet sophisticated, warm ambiance. & impeccable service. Mathew was the best server... so attentive & knowledgeable & clearly passionate about the chef, the food, & their story. Highly recommend!
Tout était parfait jusqu'au plat à la fin... L'espèce d'astronaute avec la lune... Vraiment pas bon. Trop fumé, mais vraiment pour tout le reste c'est génial. Les serveurs sont super, le chef qui est venu nous dire un mot, super apprécié. Je recommande, tout est délicieux & superbement présenté, mais chef, faut revoir les saveurs de l' astraunaute & la lune! Le foie gras!! My god j'aime pas habituellement mais cette fois-ci je suis accro!
