During my recent visit to Quebec City, I had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Le Clan, a cozy French restaurant nestled in the heart of Old Quebec. The service here was simply outstanding & added an extra layer of charm to an already exceptional dining experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, including our waiter, Guillaume who made us feel immediately at home. Guillaume was incredibly attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed & offering expert recommendations based on our preferences. He explained each dish with enthusiasm & a deep understanding of French cuisine, making us feel confident in our choices. Throughout the evening, the service from Guillaume remained impeccable. Our water glasses were always full, & plates were cleared swiftly without feeling rushed. He checked in frequently but was never intrusive, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness & allowing us to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. One thing that stood out was the genuine warmth & professionalism of the entire team, with Guillaume being a shining example. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, Guillaume maintained a friendly, personal touch, even taking the time to share some interesting stories about the history of the restaurant & the surrounding area. Overall, the service at Restaurant Le Clan, especially thanks to Guillaume, was one of the highlights of my trip. The attention to detail, personalized care, & passion for French cuisine truly set this restaurant apart. If you're looking for an authentic French dining experience in Quebec City with service that makes you feel special, this is the place to go.
The service & food are as perfect as you can find it. We had the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairing. It was cooked to perfection & the wine pairing was excellent. The service was attentive but not intrusive. They sourced the food locally & the quality of the ingredients was very good. We wanted to taste local Quebec cuisine & this is the place.
Brunch for 6. Fixed menu. I don't normally post reviews, but had to for this place. I went here for brunch with my family & some friends. Brunch was a fixed menu & was served in courses. We had a meat restriction for a few of our members & they swapped out some meats with replacements as well (the replacements tasted great). Food was excellent & we were served in courses. Proportions were great as well. Would recommend going here if you're looking for a place in this area. It was definitely a highlight of our trip especially after experiences with other restaurants in Quebec that weren't so great.
Today, my spouse & I had lunch at Le Clan based on our experience at their restaurant during our food tour with HQ Services Touristiques. Merica was our server. I would like to give Le Clan five stars because of the food, but I can only give it four for the following reasons: 1) The food service to our table was very slow - we had long wait times between dishes. This is compared to a table of two who were seated after two of our five dishes were delivered & who were able to complete their meal before we got our dessert. &, a table of three who likewise were seated after two of our dishes were served. In that case, they ordered almost twice the number of plates & were served their dessert before we completed our main meal; 2) One of our dishes was not delivered until we brought it to the attention of our server - who thought we had completed our meal. It was clearly forgotten & was then rushed to our table. 3) A table nearby was disappointed that the dessert they ordered was not available after their main course was finished. A table of three near us ordered a crème brûlée at the start of their meal, but when it was time for the dessert to be delivered, the server told them that the last one had been sold. Although this did not happen to us, it highlights the issue of food service - when the server got the order, she should have reserved the crème brûlée so her customer would not be disappointed. Which clearly she was when she got the bad news. Overall, I give the food 5 stars, the decor 5 stars, & service 3 stars.

Very good, creative & inventive food small plates. Lunch was extraordinary for only five dollars a plate. We had several & enjoyed everyone of them. I would love to go back again.
