The food was nice, except they forgot to wash their greens. I can still feel the sand between my teeth when I think about the evening. The server was quick to understand & empathize. She quickly offered 1 complimentary dessert for the sandy chard in 3 of our dishes.
My husband ordered a stuffed Lapin which he really liked. I ordered a grilled salmon which was good too.
We also ordered their mocktails & drinks which were good too.
The ambiance was very cozy. We sat outdoors. The old Quebec city streets are beautiful in the evening. We could see them from our seat 💜

What an exceptional meal at Le Lapin Sauté!

During our visit to Quebec City, we had lunch at Le Lapin Sauté, & it was easily one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed.

I ordered the rabbit poutine with mustard sauce, & it was absolutely out of this world. The rabbit was perfectly prepared, tender & flavorful, & the mustard sauce brought everything together beautifully. I also had the cassoulet with duck & sausage, & it was nothing short of spectacular-rich, hearty, & packed with deep, comforting flavors. It was one of those dishes that reminds you why classic French-Canadian cuisine is so beloved.

We also shared a salad that was fresh, beautifully prepared, & absolutely exquisite. For dessert, I tried the far Breton, which was the perfect ending to an outstanding meal-delicious, authentic, & wonderfully satisfying.

What made the experience even more memorable was the service. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, welcoming, & generous with his time. I speak French, & my partner is currently learning French, so it was especially meaningful to be able to converse with him & learn more about life in Quebec City. He made us feel comfortable, encouraged the conversation, & added a personal touch that made our visit truly special.

The food was genuinely high quality, & every dish reflected great care, skill, & attention to detail. Combined with the warm atmosphere & exceptional hospitality, Le Lapin Sauté delivered one of the best dining experiences of our trip.

Thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful afternoon. I wish you continued success & look forward to returning the next time we visit Quebec City.

A great experience but be sure to book a table if you want ensure a table. We sat outside in the warm evening but be aware you cannot reserve a table outside. We were lucky as there was a table for two free. We ordered the table d'hote which gave a discount on three courses plus tea or coffee afterwards. The meal wasn't rushed we were at our table for two hours & the food was excellent. I had the smoked herring for starters which was fabulous my wife had smoked duck. We both had rabbit for main which was substantial & some lovely vegetables with it. We both had creme brûlée for dessert which was divine. A great evening 👍

We asked if we could come in for dessert & coffee later in the evening. The host seated us as there was an open table. After we sat down ready to look at the menu, the host returned & asked us to leave as the server refused to serve us unless we were having dinne

Not worthed the hype. First of all, the service was so slow - took 15 minutes to order, 45 minutes to be served & about 2 hours to leave since they wouldn't bring the check. Waiters are nice but service is poor. Second, the food was so bland & lightly uncooked - they insisted the food should be like that but have tried more cooked in other spots. We all had stomach issues after eating it. The only good thing was the dessert. Finally, the food was pricey but lacking good service & quality. Looked promising but bad experience overall.

Spent ample time digging into all of the websites looking for the best French Onion Soup in Quebec City & ... I think I found it. This place est exceptionnel! Overall cool dinner atmosphere nooked away on Rue du Petit Champlain. Bonus if you try their maple dessert wine - something I didn't even know I needed! Nothing but good things to say & would highly recommend.

Great service & atmosphere. The food is tasty, but not amazing. Desserts were disappointing.

Wow. Just wow. My daughter & I started with an appetizer of cheese, fondue each & boy are we glad we didn't share one of those because frankly, we each could've eaten two or three of them. They were so good. I mean really really great. We then split the Rabbit stew with a pastry top. Also delicious & highly recommended. We topped it off with a crème brûlée Since we are fans of that dessert. We had tried four other crème brûlée across old Quebec during the week & this one was by far the absolute best. Overall, a really terrific meal & a really relaxed & intimate atmosphere.

Great Appetizers, the Rest Falls Short

We went for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant has a cozy, homey atmosphere in the best sense, & the presentation of every dish was beautiful. Service was attentive throughout the meal.

The real highlight here is the duck foie gras. It was outstanding, served with a ¿beet? jam that was absolutely delicious & paired perfectly. The onion soup was also good.

For mains we ordered two rabbit dishes: the rabbit leg & the stuffed rabbit. Both were fine, but considering the restaurant's reputation & focus on rabbit, we were expecting something a bit more memorable.

Desserts were less successful. The honey tart had a very good base, but there was too much salt. The chocolate cake simply wasn't great

Unfortunately, the coffee was the weakest part of the meal. The filtered coffee tasted burnt, & the cappuccino was essentially the same coffee covered with a very large layer of milk foam, beautiful to look at, but it didn't hide the burnt taste.

Overall, the starters were the highlight, but the mains, desserts, & coffee didn't reach the same level, which made the overall experience feel average rather than memorable.
