Review Summary

Le Lapin Sauté is widely celebrated as a charming, cozy, and quintessential destination in Old Quebec City, particularly favored for its authentic rabbit and duck specialties. Many visitors praise the restaurant for its warm, welcoming staff, impeccable service, and a picturesque patio perfect for people watching in the Petit Champlain district. While the majority of diners highlight the high quality of dishes like the rabbit poutine, cassoulet, and salted honey pie, some guests have noted inconsistencies in food preparation, occasional service delays, or a preference for larger portion sizes. Despite the high demand making reservations essential, most guests consider it a must-visit venue that captures a unique, intimate atmosphere suitable for families and romantic outings alike.

It's such a lovely restaurant with wonderful staff who make the entire dining experience incredible.

We tried the cassoulet, both the seafood & the duck versions. I must admit that slow-cooked bean dishes usually aren't my thing, but I really liked the beans here.

Rabbit Poutine! YES! Our favourite restaurant in Old Quebec City. Had a couple of icy cold Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc & shared a Rabbit Poutine & French Onion Soup on the cool, shady patio. Don't miss this great spot if you are in Vieux-Québec. Always busy, but easy to make a reservation online.

Exquisite platen of pate, confit, & make sure you add the sausage to it for an extra bite. It truly is a shared dish for two people, so enjoy. It is my go-to restaurant when I come to Quebec city. You should do the same.

I have been here on a few occasions years ago & was very much looking forward to enjoying a good meal here again. I was a little dissappointed however. The smoked salmon entrée was excellent. I opted for their specialty & chose the rsbbit cassoulet dish. I thought the rabnit was dry. Still a nice place. Service was great.

Went there for brunch for the past 25 years & we were surprised today that they don't offer brunch anymore. Disappointed & definitely won't go back unless they bring it back! It used to be delicious, restaurant fully booked but it was empty.

This little gem in the old quarter has maximum ambience. We were seated on the patio which I loved for people watching. The service was slow but this was not the servers fault - but rather the kitchen having a large number
Of orders. We shared a share platter & then shared desserts. It was a heat wave so we didn't feel like a heavy meal. My children got the $14 kids menu & it is elite. Amazing value & the food was so so tasty. No chicken nuggets at this amazing venue. One child had the poutine & the other the salmon & both were beautifully presented & seasoned.

I'd go back again the servers were helpful , kind & informative. You have to dine in the old town - & this was a perfect choice. The crème brulee was absolutely amazing. As were the truffles. Rabbit & duck aren't really my thing but I didn't dislike it & I'm glad I had some of the local cuisine

I could make better food at home. Very disappointed after seeing decent reviews.

Prime location on Le Petite Champlain; great atmosphere & very friendly staff. We went during lunch with no wait which is the right move, as with dinner you will need a reservation well in advance.

We ordered the mushroom ravioli & the duck saddle - both were amazing & well portioned. We believe the price was worth what we paid.

We got lucky with a corner seat in the patio, & so we enjoyed people watching with a great meal
