Founded in 1978 by Jacques Fortier and Jean-Luc Boulay, Le Saint-Amour has become an iconic institution in Quebec City, embodying the influence of Quebec gastronomy. Offering haute French cuisine inspired by exceptional regional products, renowned chef Jean-Luc Boulay and his team combine traditional know-how and modern techniques to pay tribute to local producers and offer a gourmet, refined and unique gastronomic experience.

Le Saint-Amour is ranked among the top 10 favourite fine dining restaurants in Canada by travellers, according to TripAdvisor (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2020 Travellers' Choice Awards). Our wine cellar , housing over 15,000 carefully selected bottles, is also among the top 10 wine selections in Canada, with prestigious vintages from all over the world. Over the years, we have had the honour of welcoming renowned celebrities, such as Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Alicia Keys, Johnny Hallyday, Charles Aznavour, and many others, who have chosen Le Saint-Amour during their stay in Quebec City.

Le Saint-Amour was awarded 4 stars by the prestigious Debeur Guide and was crowned Restaurant of the Year in 2011. This recognition is in addition to the many distinctions received by Chef Jean-Luc Boulay : Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec in 2024, the highest honorary distinction awarded by the Quebec government, Maître Cuisinier de France, Officier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole de France medal, Governor General of Canada's Award for the Arts of the Table, as well as the Prix Hommage Renaud-Cyr. Also recognized for his dedication to passing on his knowledge, Chef Boulay shares his passion with new generations, notably as a permanent judge on the show Les Chefs! , broadcast on Radio-Canada since 2010 and with 13 seasons to date.

Même au travers des années, même malgré le nombre de repas, rien jamais ne dilue ni ne diminue le plaisir de s'y retrouver.

Nous avons passé un excellent moment. Le personnel est aux petits soins. Nous sommes accueillis en entrant par le chef. Tous le long du repas de petites surprises offertes par la maison. Un repas somptueux & vraiment délicieux. Je recommande chaudement.

Je n'ai jamais aussi bien mangé de toute ma vie. Mon conjoint & moi sommes allés la fin de semaine dernière lors d'une fin de senaine à Quebec (nous sommes de montreal) . Nous avons pris le menu découverte sans savoir a quoi nous attendre & tout était excellent. Nous avons dépensées environ 400$

Overall, everything about this place screams'five-star restaurant.' However, I wonder if we were treated differently because we were younger than the regulars. While our waiter & waitress were truly great, the rest of the staff fell short.
There was almost no eye contact, no smiles, & no greetings. We had to refill our own wine glasses & waited so long for the check that we eventually had to stand up & go to the front desk. We even ended up grabbing our own coats from the coat check because the wait was so long. I am 100% sure the servers were doing their absolute best given how busy it was, but it seemed like other staff members weren't doing much to help. For such a high-end establishment, we expected to be treated as such.
