Endroit magnifique avec terrasse intime & chaleureuse. Personnel à l'écoute & connaissant des produits. Plats équilibrés avec des ingrédients principalement du terroir québécois. Le menu découverte de 5 services en valait grandement la peine, & l'enchaînement des plats se faisait avec fluidité à travers un fil conducteur. Belle carte des vins, & autres boissons, ici aussi principalement du terroir.
J'y retournerai avec plaisir (en plus de tenter l'expérience de la Taverne 3 un jour).
Everything was perfect at L'Orygine, from the initial check-in to the ultimate take-home cookie. We chose the chef's tasting five course menu with wine pairings. Each course was beautifully arranged, tastefully cooked, & delicious, from one to the next, including the amuse-bouche to begin. All of the waiters were helpful & friendly, describing in detail each elaborate course. Our primary waiter did an excellent job explaining each wine selected to accompany the course. All of the ingredients are fresh & full of flavor. The restaurant indoors & on the terrace is beautiful in every detail. We could not have been more pleased. Thank you!
Amongst the world-class Group La Tanière restaurants, L'Orygine absolutely stands apart. The manager, servers, & bartender were absolutely phenomenal & made my night a truly special one. Their five-course discovery tasting is absolutely worth it for anyone visiting for the first time...or more. It's a great example of their current menu for the season with a few original twists thrown in. The cocktails are expertly crafted, including on the spot! I made gave Gabriel just a couple of ingredients & he crafted a cocktail on the spot that even he fell in love with. He kept all the patrons happy, laughing, & feeling at home. If you visit Quebec City, you owe it to yourself to make a reservation & enjoy the experience for yourself.

Malheureusement notre groupe de 8 a été déçu. Outre l'excellent service & la belle ambiance, nos commentaires sont les suivants:
- notre serveur nous a suggéré de prendre 2-3 plats. C'était beaucoup trop. Tous les plats étaient généreux (risotto, flétan, légumes d'automne...) ce qui est une qualité en soit. Il faut juste le message.
- les catégories au menu sont étranges & non représentatifs des plats (Du Garde manger & Un peu de chaleur).
- avec une offre bio & local, nous nous attendions a des plats ou les aliments allaient être mis en vedette avec leur saveur distincte. Dans le cas du fletan par exemple, quoi que très bon au goût, il m'était impossible de savoir de quoi était composé mon plat. Trop d'ingrédients & de saveur mélangés a mon avis, qui au final rend le plat indistinct. Aussi ce plat est terne a regarder, beige sur beige.
-nous n'avons pas de problème avec les prix élevés en restauration mais la nourriture doit être a la hauteur.
-le plat choux-fleur tournesol contenait un gros morceau de gingembre, très désagréable.

Very thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented food made with the freshest of ingredients. Delicious flavors & textures. Excellent service. We chose the Decouverte menu of 5 small courses, which is what nearly everyone does. You may opt for the Vegan, Vegetarian or Omnivore meal. It is a splurge, but one well worth making.
Amazing service from the staff who were very friendly, helpful, fun, & knowledgeable. Delicious food & drinks (vegan tasting menu w/ non-alcoholic pairing) - maybe some of the best I've ever had! The freshest ingredients creatively combined into layers of flavourful pairings beyond imagination for both food & drinks - absolutely fantastic & divine! Will definitely be returning next time I'm in Quebec.
