L'Orygine offers a sophisticated culinary experience focused on creative, locally sourced ingredients. Many guests praise the attentive service, beautiful atmosphere, and the exceptional tasting menus, which frequently accommodate diverse dietary needs with flair. The non-alcoholic drink pairings are frequently highlighted as a standout feature, contributing to a memorable and welcoming environment suitable for special occasions.
Bistro L'Orygine was an outstanding dining experience. My husband & I opted for the tasting menu, where the chef selects each dish for you. While they accommodate food allergies or preferences, we allowed them full creative freedom, & every course was a delight. We enjoyed six courses, plus a special addition, & each item was excellent. The staff was wonderful & attentive, providing detailed descriptions of each dish that sounded like poetry. This was truly a dining experience, not just a meal. Time & price shouldn't be a concern-this is a 2.5 -hour, premium experience. My husband went with the wine pairing, while I enjoyed a couple of delicious cocktails. Our service was efficient & informative throughout. If you're looking for a memorable culinary journey, Bistro L'Orygine is well worth it!

A culinary delight tucked into a side street just one block away from the port. The ambience was elegant, quiet & perfect for our 26th anniversary dinner. We decided on the a la carte menu. The first course was fried ravioli stuffed with caramelized sweet onions. A perfect palate preparation to enjoy with our wine. Just one each which was also perfect This was followed by cooked oysters - I ordered six, next time I will order a dozen - the boar bacon & jalapeno pepper complimented the oysters & au gratin, an exciting combo. Next, my favorite dish, the Tataki de veau & courge fumee. (Veal tataki & smoked squash) the veal was perfectly seared with an apple balsamic drizzle. The fumee was creamy & flavorful. I might have a double order of this next time, as an entree. Last was the guinea fowl & cauliflower, another inventive combination. It had a nice symphony of flavors & textures, I loved the crunchy sage semolina & cauliflower puree. I thought the fowl could have used a little more spice on it but that's just preference on my part. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his order of raw oysters, his third course was the arctic char, he commented that it was a new flavor for him that he would like to try again. Fourth course: He says the halibut was lovely & nicely prepared. He would have liked the pasta & red sauce served separately from the white sauce accompanying the halibut. Everything was fresh & organic. Would have loved to watch these dishes being prepared. The restaurant was full you may need a reservation depending on the day. We were there on a Thursday & were seated without one. Service, the restaurant staff were professional, friendly & personable. Put this one on your itinerary!
The halibut, tagliatelle, white wine beurre blanc was the only dish that felt confused, the meal was amazing as well as each of its individual parts, but might be capable of being two dishes in one. The veal tataki (& its vegetarian counter part enjoyed by my partner) was a mutually agreed to be an absolute orgasmic experience. Otherwise the experience starting with the music, to the cocktail pairings, to the staffs kindness & warmth, was 5 stars!! Thank you!
