After just having eaten at the Clan the day before, I just wasn't as impressed with the food quality at this restaurant. The food was good but not at the level that a $100 plus bill would warrant. The food was a bit too eclectic & the spices not as vivid as they should be for things like a samosa type of appetizer & a few of the others which were asian influenced. The non-alcoholic pairings were a nice touch though & the waiting staff was attentive. I did however prefer the dessert here with is various flavorings.

Can't recommend Bistro L'Orygine highly enough. We enjoyed a very special meal - every course was unique, fresh, & exquisite. The wine pairings were outstanding. The team was welcoming & provided outstanding service. Thanks to Gabriel who took care of us. If you go to one special meal in Quebec, this is it.

This place is a true experience. From the moment you walk in, the staff are warm, friendly & knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to get a table on the patio on an unseasonably warm night. Our server listened to us closely & made good recommendations. The food & drink are sublime. Everything is sourced from Quebec so no imported lemons, etc. I tried the Amergarita, a take on a margarita that uses marigolds! It was delicious. Emmy partner got the whisky drink & the lassi which were both fantastic. We both did the discovery menu which lets you sample a bit of everything they offer. Each dish was beautiful & extremely tasty. & unlike most high end reading, they were super flexible. You could say "I don't like x" & they'll work around it creatively. The discovery menu also comes in a vegan version. Really worth it to go for this menu. I can't say enough good things about this place. Just go, you'll be glad you did!
