La nourriture est absolument délicieuse , le service a été super long. C'était pour la fête d'une amie , le serveur du départ super sympathique lui souhaite un joyeux anniversaire & lui mentionne qu'elle aura une surprise pour l'occasion . Finalement le service super long , la serveuse ne vient même plus remplir notre eau … aucune surprise même pas un dessert offert …. Arriver à 18 heures , nous devions quitter pour 20:00 , plats principaux servis à 19:45 , on nous a avisé à ce moment qu'ils ajoutaient 1 heure à notre réservation . Moindre des choses selon moi … quand il reste 15 minutes pour manger.
Je vais pas vous détruire , juste un bémol . Risotto de la semaine dernière ( 25 mai ) riz bouilli éclaté fade sans goût , on oubli le parmesan , la crème , le vin blanc , échalotes ..un vrai risotto .mais on nous chargé quand même l assiette plein prix sachant que le risotto es manquer... Ça aurait bien de réduire l assiette ou de justifier un rabais .De l erreur des cuisinier ou d offrir un dessert partageable a ceux qui l on pris sur une table de 5 ..
La facture aurrais été digerable ..

Matto was great. - we shared a pizza - which was perfectly cooked & a pasta which was fresh & yummy. Service was great - friendly professional & timely. Loved this place. Dont skip dessert - the cannelloni was a highlight.

Quelle belle expérience! Resto'boutique' selon moi, avec un accueil personnel & attentionné. Service impeccable de Claudia avec recommandations franches & pertinentes. Nous avions réservé pour 2 (couple) & le resto était plein (avec plus d'un service ce soir là). Un peu bruyant à cause de 3 groupes, mais parfaitement tolérable compte tenu de l'occupation.
Nourriture absolument mémorable, pas moins. Absolument délicieux, de l'entrée au dessert avec un bon choix de vins. Considérant l'endroit & la qualité de l'ensemble, des prix très convenables & raisonnables. Pour ma part, j'ai pu déguster les'Gamberi all Sambuca', un risotto aux crevettes, sauce crémeuse à la sambuca, comme plat principal…. OMG! OMG! Un délice à l'italienne. Recommendation absolue.
Comme nous fêtions également notre anniversaire (46ème!), le gérant Jean-Nicolas nous a gentiment offert un limoncello comme digestif. Somme toute, une belle soirée agréable & nous y retournerons assurément à notre prochaine visite dans le vieux Québec. Un incontournable selon moi. Merci à toute l'équipe du Il Matto.
Cuisine savoureuse, accueil & service impeccables & chaleureux. Atmosphère urbaine très agréable, on se sent bien en ville dans cette grande salle à manger aux plafonds très hauts. Le personnel croit en ses produits & l'équipe est rodée au quart de tour. Difficile de faire un choix au menu, tout est tentant. Les arancinis, bien croustillants à l'extérieur & tendres & fromagés à souhait à l'intérieur, accompagnés d'une sauce tomate de belle texture. Les bruschetta sont très généreuses & la tomate bien fraîche. Les escalopes de veau, marsala ou crème & champignons, sont délicieuses & leurs sauces, onctueuses & bien structurées & riches. Les pâtes en sauce à la crème accompagnent à merveille la viande. Pas de dessert cette fois-ci, ayant un peu abusé des mouillettes de pain dans l'huile d'olive & le balsamique. Sélection d'alcools impressionnante. Les amateurs de gin, entre autre, seront servis. Ce n'était pas notre première fois & on y reviendra, c'est certain ! Merci pour cette belle soirée.
The portions were small & we had to wait awhile for our food...I had the seafood linguine & the class & muscles were rubbery...also had the calamari the portion size was tune & unfortunately it was tasteless...

Honesty theirs lots of restaurants in the area next time I'd juat go somewhere else...
There were 5 of us so we decided to order a lot of different plates & do family style. To start we got the Carpaccio Di Manzo, Bruschetta Di Pomodoro, & Insalata Di Rucola E Prosciutto Di Parma.
Second round was their signature Pappardelle al Funghi, Agnellotti, Scaloppina Di Vitello (Limone), & the Joue De Boeuf Braisée. The pappardelle was amazing & had plenty of mushrooms mixed in. The beef cheek was fork tender & melted in your mouth, paired with a dark au jou that was so flavorful. The agnelotti was tossed in a basil cream sauce that made your palate dance. The lemon veal was one of my favorite dishes of the night, covered in a creamy lemon pepper sauce.
For dessert we had the Bombas which were two fried donuts drizzled in a hot nutella sauce. We also had the Tiramisu & Tartufo, an Italian chocolate ice cream.
From start to end, the food & service was phenomenal. Thank you Matto for an evening I won't soon forget!
Tout est vraiment excellent, tout les repas sont délicieux, après 2 jours a sejourner a l'hôtel, j'ai eu la chance d'y deguster 2 dîners & 1 souper. & tout etait tellement bon de l'entrée au dessert que lors de mon prochain sejour a Québec, je vais y revenir sans hésitation . Sans parler du service qui etait impeccable, accueillant, avenant, souriant.
The vibe & serving staff at Matto were amazing; it was busy but not too loud to hold a conversation. The hostess was great at her job & recommended several items, all of which were great. We had burrata to start & mains were cod with vegetables & pasta, & ravioli. Dessert was cannoli & tiramisu. Both, outstanding, especially since they can be disappointing if not done well. Matto excelled in all areas & when we're back in QC we will definitely be back.
My partner treated me to date here on our last night in Quebec City, & what a treat it was! The service was amazing, especially from our waiter David. He didn't even blink at the fact I don't speak French well enough for a conversation, & engaged my partner in the art of Franglaise. Always around when we so much as thought of him, David was attentive & always had a smile on. He also recommended a lovely wine that I regret not getting the name of.
We didn't wait long at all for our food, which was surprising given how busy it was! My partner got the eggplant Parmesan that looked lovely, albeit a bit small in portion compared to my spaghetti & meatballs. Both dishes were equally delicious though, as were our desserts of tiramisu & Italian chocolate ice cream.
