Food was good. Pizza was excellent, NYC / Naples, IT quality crust & flavor. Quality of Veal & the burnt Parm cheese on the veal Parm was not appealing. It's unfortunate the local architect review boards are allowing contemporary designs within the UNESCO Site. The atmosphere is more for a Montreal high rise tower.

We were excited to go to Matto for our first dinner during our trip yo Quebec City. It was in the Hotel71 we were staying in (which we loved btw).

It started out nice, is a nice restaurant. Then got progressively not as nice. It's an extremely busy & tight space. Tables are very close & very little space even for servers to get around.

Service was extremely slow. It took close to 1.5 hours to get our food from when we arrived. It got extremely hot in the space which made it uncomfortable. My wife had to get up & walk outside for a while to cool off. I saw others that did the same.

Finally when the good came, I really liked my spaghetti with meatballs. My wife got a pizza with mushrooms. It was good but not great.

We felt it was very expensive for what you get.

It was ok but we wouldn't return.

Very small restaurant felt over crowded. We were seated near the kitchen so it was very loud with the plates & movement, no separation from the serving station to our table. The plates were literally stacked near my face. The pizza was overdone, hard to slice. The calamari were salty & tiny, I guess they used baby squid.

7 of us dined at Matto Vieux. They gave us a private room! The food was absolutely delicious! My husband & I shared the lasagne & the Quattro formagi pizza. Best lasagne we've ever tasted! & the pizza was amazing....loved the addition of figs! Beautifully decorated restaurant & very attentive wait staff! Perfect way to end our day!

C'était notre 1ere visite chez vous & ce ne sera pas la dernière.
Notre expérience a débuter des l'accueil , l'ambiance, la déco c'est ce que je recherchais.
La gentillesse & bienveillance du personnel tout le long a été très apprécié.
Que dire de nos plats ? WoW
Pâtes champignons: Goûteux, chaud, quantité idéale.
Pizza roquette: pâtes incroyables, produits frais, invitait nos papilles.

L'atmosphère & le service était excellent. Concernant la nourriture, pour ma part, l'entrée était excellente cependant j'ai trouvé la sauce de mon escaloppe de veau Marsela très moyenne car elle était trop épaisse & avait la texture de la melasse. Mon conjoint a pris la même entrée que moi, & il a aussi beaucoup aimé. De plus, il a aussi aimé beaucoup sa pizza aux 4 fromages.
Cela a quand même été une belle soirée. Merci beaucoup !
