Nous étions un groupe de 11 personnes, arrivées à 18 h 30 & reparties vers 22 h. Le service a malheureusement été excessivement lent du début à la fin.
À aucun moment on ne nous a demandé si certains convives avaient des allergies ou des restrictions alimentaires. Pourtant, une soupe minestrone - que nous avons commandée en toute confiance dans un restaurant se disant italien - a été servie à une personne végétarienne alors qu'elle contenait du porc. Ce genre d'erreur est inacceptable.
De plus, lorsqu'on commande du vin, il est d'usage de le faire goûter avant le service, ce qui n'a pas été fait. La qualité globale de la nourriture ne correspondait pas du tout au prix demandé.
Nous ne sommes pas des touristes de passage. Nous venons régulièrement à Québec & connaissons bien les standards de la restauration. Cette expérience a été très décevante à plusieurs niveaux.
Pour terminer, recevoir des appels du restaurant à 22 h puis à 23 h 30 après notre départ est tout simplement inapproprié.
Toujours un plaisir de venir à ce restaurant, l'accueil est fantastique, les serveurs sont professionnels & gentils, les ingrédients sont bons & de qualité. Les recettes sont bien réalisées & tout ça pour un prix accessible. La petite salle à part est tellement agréable & cosy. La mission du Matto est tellement bien remplie, du plaisir à l'état pur.
Was recommended to us by frequent visitors. Reservations are a must. Food was well prepared overall as were the beverages. One gentleman server with the glasses was very entertaining & had good reccomendations. Our table was set in the center of room with tight space to walk around my chair so I kept getting hit by people passing by. Lol . I wasn't too bothered.

I'm not sure how this place is so highly rated. The three dishes we had; mushroom pasta, risotto, & lasagna were below average. The first batch of bread we were served was cold & stale. Most concerning, the wine by the bottle is terribly expensive & of very low quality. The markup to these is unreasonable. There were no less than three bottles on the menu for $90 -$95 that were very poor grade & can be found for about $20 at a store. Service was prompt & very friendly.
Je donne un 4 étoiles, car j'aime beaucoup les papardelles aux champignons de ce resto qui demeure un bon classique. Cependant, cela faisait 1 an que je n'y étais pas allée & j'ai trouvé que la nourriture était moins goûteuse. L'entrée de bruschetta était fade & manquait vraiment d'épices.. Or, le carpaccio de boeuf était un réel délice.
Tout est vraiment excellent, tout les repas sont délicieux, après 2 jours a sejourner a l'hôtel, j'ai eu la chance d'y deguster 2 dîners & 1 souper. & tout etait tellement bon de l'entrée au dessert que lors de mon prochain sejour a Québec, je vais y revenir sans hésitation . Sans parler du service qui etait impeccable, accueillant, avenant, souriant.
This restaurant is located inside Hotel 71. We ordered the mushroom pasta & the prosciutto pizza. The pizza was a bit disappointing , it tasted like it had been reheated & the prosciutto taste was not good. The pasta, on the other hand, was good & I would recommend it.
Very nice atmosphere. I had the mushroom pasta & a pizza. The pasta was quite good, BUT the pizza was honestly one of the worst I've tried ,even a Costco pizza tasted better. It was dry with a very thick, heavy crust. Overall, loved the setting but the pizza definitely needs improvement.
Comme d'habitude & depuis plus de 10 ans je vais TOUJOURS chez Matto lorsque je passe à Québec. Tout est bon, la bouffe, l'ambiance, le service d'Alexandra qui est super & superbe, la propreté & même le prix. C'est peu dire. Je conseille a 100%
