Review Summary

Queues de castor is widely celebrated as a quintessential destination for visitors and locals alike in Old Quebec, known for its iconic fried pastries and satisfying poutines. Guests frequently praise the variety of delicious, indulgent toppings and the consistent quality of the food, which serves as a comforting treat during a stroll through the Petit Champlain district. While the establishment is highly regarded for its friendly and efficient staff who manage busy crowds with professionalism, some reviewers note that the dining area can be small and crowded, occasionally making it difficult to find a place to sit. Despite the high demand and occasional wait, most experiences are described as warm and memorable, making it a highly recommended stop for those with a sweet tooth or anyone looking for a classic Canadian snack.

Nice place to have beaver tail or poutine, not many places to sit

The beaver tail is basically a donut in another shape. We tried the one with hazelnut cream on top & were very surprised to see they also put sugar on top of nutella. Why? Nutella is already very sweet, why top it with sugar?
In conclusion, if you like something deep fried that is super sweet, come here. Otherwise, eat somewhere else.

Fun & delicious! BeaverTails are fried dough pastries shaped like a beaver's tail, crispy on the outside & soft inside. I tried the maple flavor - simple but sooo good. Very impressive!

They also have fun toppings like Nutella, banana, or maple butter. Great for a quick snack while walking around Old Quebec!

Fried dough, chocolate, maple, & sugar; what's not to like? We got mEHple & Hazel Amour, & they did not disappoint. A must get experience while in Canada.
