This place had a smaller menu which I loved. It made it fun to pick a few small dishes to share with my husband. The drinks were fun & delicious & loved the atmosphere.

Table d'hôte was nice but I had asked for gluten free coeliac salmon tartine & it came with breads next to the meal & under it! Not satisfactory. The young man serving was nice but did not explain the menu additions /specials for cocktails etc & at the end he came out with a garbled "off the menu, not on now"etc. I told him it was his job to explain at the start. I also heard him quibble about a coins tip & the traveller was trying to finish her coins before going home. In the end she had to use a card!,

I give 3-stars as a neutral rating. As I have not tried this establishment but have tried to enter with my kids. Unfortunately, our family got turned away on Dec 26th during lunch time. Just to save time for those with little kids to please avoid this place as Alphonse's reasoning is that they do not allow children due to bar permit.

I brought my mother, brother & sister for Christmas dinner & it exceeded their expectations. They all agreed with me that it's by far the best restaurant in Quebec & probably one of the best in the world. The restaurant team was amazing, very helpful, attentive, super friendly & polite. Lea was so wonderful with us too!

Ce restaurant est très bien situé. C'est toujours un délice & avec grand plaisir que nous retournons à chaque année chez Alphonse. La nourriture & le service sont excellents.
