The place calls itself an auberge but our room was in what could only be described as a motel. It was tiny & hasn't been updated since the 50's. No bathroom exhaust fan meant that when you shower the smoke detector went off. The only thing that keeps the rating from being one star is its location, right on the St. Lawrence.

We stayed in the main part of the auberge & appreciated the beauty of the lobby & restaurant but we were extremely disappointed with our room. Upon reaching the top of the stairs, it seemed to be a totally different building. It was old & very poorly decorated with old indoor/outdoor carpeting & peeling paint. It looked like it had been furnished from a yard sale. The room chairs were in very poor condition & the balcony seemed a little too old to be completely safe. The electrical outlets were so old that they did not hold the plugs in. The room did however seem clean & the beds were comfortable but overall the room & its amenities were very underwhelming. The breakfast was delicious but did cost $65.00 for the 2 of us. The diningroom had a beautiful atmosphere. We take a lot of road trips & enjoy motels & bnb's rather than large hotels but, this stay was definitely a disappointment. I do not recommend an overnight stay in the main building.
