Overall Café Krieghoff is described as a relaxed, welcoming spot with sunlit terraces and a vibe that invites lingering, offering brunch and lunch options such as eggs benedict that many reviewers find solid to excellent, along with warm, attentive service and a charming central setting, though some guests note high prices for small portions and occasional slow service, while others highlight standout dishes like duck poutine or smoked salmon, good coffee and house made jam, and an airy, artful atmosphere that makes it easy to linger on a sunny day or during a casual meal.
Café Krieghoff, is a wonderful little boutique hotel centrally located with a decent price for the location. After a long drive & late work shift the night before I slept great a solid 9 hours bed was very comfortable. We awoke the next morning to go downstairs to a great breakfast the homemade bagel with melted Swiss cheese & house jam was amazing with the Americano coffee. Lounge area was great also nice clean bathroom/shower. Also appreciated the books in the lounge & room nice to have some historical references of the area.
This is one of my favourite cafés I visit everytime I'm in Quebec City! Awesome coffee, great food, & a wonderful presence that makes every meal an experience. & minutes away from the Plains D'Abraham. June 2024 update: Still the same experience which in itself is amazing. Many places lose their edge or have closed. Café Krieghoff is still busier than ever & going strong. Great ambiance on the sidewalk patio. January 2025 update: I had an amazing cappuccino from my favourite café this afternoon! I love the ambiance & the care they put into what they do. Always highly recommended if you're in Québec City.
Beau séjour en famille pour le temps des fêtes. Très agréable avec le salon à l'étage pour se retrouver sur le grand sofa en cuir. Service & propreté des chambres impeccables.
Petit souper en amoureux avant d'aller au Grand Théâtre de Québec. Tout a été parfait; ambiance cozy, nourriture très bonne à un prix raisonnable, service hors pair. Le tout à proximité de la salle de spectacle. Je recommande sans hésiter.
Quelle belle découverte! Le repas était vraiment excellent! J'ai pris la quiche du jour qui était vraiment super avec la soupe aux poids toute aussi excellente. Le dessert, une tarte au sucre, a terminé ce repas d'une excellente façon accompagné d'un très bon allongé! Tout cela avec un service irréprochable! L'ambiance était très chaleureux. J'y retournerai assurément pour faire découvrir cet endroit à des amis!

Wir hatten einen sehr durchwachsen Aufenthalt, da das Zimmer zwar sehr sauber war, aber: Bei booking steht lediglich: "Eigenes Badezimmer". Das stimmt zwar, aber es ist ein separater Raum auf der schräg gegenüberliegenden Flurseite. Dies gilt auch für andere Zimmer und daher ist auf dem Flur ständig Betrieb... Leider bei unserem Aufenthalt auch tief in der Nacht und früh morgens. Für die anderen Zimmer steht dort: "Eigenes Badezimmer (im Zimmer)". Dies wäre schön gewesen, wenn es bei der Buchung besser beschrieben und unterschieden werden würde! Die Lage ist gut, etwas 30 min fußläufig von der Altstadt entfernt. (Die Speisen im Café sind sehr lecker und zu empfehlen.)
Le restaurant est bien. La dame de ménage est sympathique. L'entrée dans l'hôtel se fait par code. La chambre 5 présentait plusieurs défauts : partie droite du lit défoncée (donc nuit en pente ; défaut déjà signalé par des clients depuis le début du mois d'août), porte de la salle de bain qui grince de manière épouvantable, interrupteur de la lampe principale défectueux.
We had a delightful breakfast at the restaurant. The food was excellent, the service friendly, & everyone left happy. Highly recommend for a great start to the day! 😊

Le service déjeuner au restau fut exécrable ! Serveuse arrogante & intimidation ! À oublié mon café & devient agressive ! Mon mari & moi n'apprécions pas du tout ! Les clients autour non plus !
We went to the bar for a pint & some snacks waitress has super attention & suggestions were on point. Local people al around so this is good to relax & enjoy the pause
