Definitely an extraordinary dining experience, utilizing local produce. I took the 6 course tasting menu with non alcoholic cocktail pairings. Each dish was unique, tasteful, & well plated, excellent presentation. The staff is extremely professional we'll trained in Providing the details behind each plate. I was pleasantly surprised & impressed with the one of a kind non alcoholic pairing, the cocktails were well presented & each one was tailored to the serving, elevating the flavours of the plate to a new level. ambiance is welcoming. Thanks for the impeccable service Chris, will definitely be returning.
We went with the tasting menu & wine pairing. An absolutely wonderful experience! Christian was friendly & attentive. The food was amazingly delicious & the wine pairings were spot on. The dishes were so unique & beautifully presented! Thank you for such a memorable evening!
Wonderful restaurant! The chef's tasting menu alongside the wine pairing was amazing! The staff were very knowledgeable & accomodating. Each dish was beautifully presented. Made our anniversary night very special.
A Superb soiree of imaginative beautifully prepared & presented food in their tasting menu. While each dish was very good, the rutabaga fettuccini with thin shiitake & hemp seed was special. other dishes were the sturgeon ceviche, a very rich carrot based vegan plate, & the smoked duck breast. The lamb tartare was good, perhaps the weak link. My wife had the wine pairings, which were excellent & matched well. For me a wonderful new experience, a non-alcoholic tasting beverage set to match the dishes. When one says they do not drink alcohol, in many restaurants the waiter gets less interested in you. This was to me very special. It was very unusual, creative & all based, like all of their foods, in locally available ingredients. Birch beer, cucumber juice to pour into a melange of white cranberry & juniper juices, & a fantastic carrot cocktail creation. The only one which was over the top was the pine infused last cocktail with berry puree & dried pine dust on top. It was novel, but the pungency of the pine base was a little much for me. Minor criticism. The smoke filled glass dome enveloping the smoked (I can't remember what) beverage which accompanied the duck was quite fantastic-- I was at a campfire. The staff was warm & welcoming, very fun to engage with, & all very knowledgeable about the restaurant's mission, & the foods & beverages. Shoutout to Chris our waiter. We would return in a heartbeat.
My husband & I each enjoyed the tasting menu & the wine agreement. Each course was delicious, the flavors & textures enhanced each other, the innovation & creativity were impressive, & the presentation was beautiful. The wines selected to accompany each course were excellent, well-matched to the specific course, & presented with full descriptions of the wine itself & the vineyard from which it came. The three people who served us did a superb job, explaining each course/wine, answering all of our questions, making us feel personally welcomed & pampered. This was one of the very best dinners we have ever enjoyed, exceeding even the tasting menu with wines that we enjoyed at a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Quebec City is most fortunate to be the home of such an establishment.
I've been lucky to have eaten at some amazing restaurants & Légende ranks among them. The local focus ensures that the menu will be fresh, varied & challenges the chefs to be creative. They are.
While it's a bit pricy, the tasting experience is well worth it, at a fraction of a price you could pay in NYC or elsewhere for similar quality.
The sommelier did a fantastic job with the pairing option, & I was very pleased to see a non-alcoholic pairing option of mocktails from the very capable mixologists...you don't see this enough in this day & age.
All in all, a top tier experience at relatively reasonable pricing for a true dining experience showcasing the best of Québec...which is already the best.
