What an unforgettable dining experience! My family & I visited Masaru Sushi during our stay in Old Quebec City, & it was hands down the highlight of our entire trip.
As a halal-eating family, finding great sushi can be a real challenge but the tall, slim, bald chef (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name!) went above & beyond to accommodate us. Without hesitation, he crafted an entirely halal menu for us, keeping everything free of meat & pork. His attentiveness & genuine care for our dietary needs made us feel truly welcome. If you're Muslim definitely give some love to this restaurant, they'll serve you halal.
We asked him to surprise us with his selection of assorted makis & nigiris, plus a poke bowl for our little one & wow, did he deliver. Every piece was beautifully crafted & bursting with flavor. The freshness was unmatched, & the creativity in his choices left us speechless.
This is, without a doubt, the best sushi our family has ever had. If you're visiting Quebec City, do not miss Masaru Sushi. A heartfelt thank you to the chef for making our visit so special!
Excellent ! Leur sauce au sésame est délicieuse dans les pokeball. Service impeccable. Je recommande
Would definitely recommend. I had the vegetarian poke bowl (fried tofu) with sesame sauce & it was excellent. 10/10.
Popped in to pick up some food, ended up having my Maki there & my poke bowl to go. Both were designed beautifully & carefully by chef with super fresh ingredients. Service was great. A little pricy but most things are in this area. Not the most aesthetically pleasing place to sit down.
Great sushi, great place, great service every time. I've come here twice in the past year when I come to Quebec City. It's a must for me now, especially since the small town where I live doesn't have any good sushi at all. The chef is incredibly skilled with pairing seafood & vegetables & rice in the maki or the poke bowls that my friends ordered this time. Each time, we scarf down our amazing meal here. Wish I took pics last time! But these photos from yesterday's visit will have to do. I HAD to review it. So glad that Quebec City has such a wonderful sushi place (even friends from the coastal cities of Canada who know goooood sushi loved it all!) & we have been met with such kind & bilingual service every time.
Small but really good...the poke bowl with the sesame sauce was soo good. Recommend. We were there a year later again & it is still amazing. Try that one out.
Really friendly host, prompt service & delicious food. If you don't speak French the menus are double sided & straightforward. Was apprehensive about ordering sushi from non-Japanese chefs in old Quebec City of all places, but it was well worth it. Had the miso soup, delicious & nice pieces of seaweed & tofu, along with the Poké tuna & snow crab Poké bowls (tuna & the veggies were fresh & mango was sweet. Though I'd pass on the snow crab as it was $3 extra & a bit bland), & the 15 pieces of chefs choice maki (delicious highly recommend, there was something different about the tuna maki (I think it was) I haven't had a roll that tasted like that before it was herb-y in a unique way)
