Fantastic place for dinner.
We were lucky to catch their lobster season. Had their lobster pasta. Fresh pasta in a rose sauce with real chunks of lobster. Sat on their patio in the picturesque alley.
Service was also really personable & knowledgeable.
Great wine, amazing lasagna, but check the ingredients! Matto boasts a stellar wine selection & a vibrant atmosphere. Vegetarian warning: the Minestrone soup contains pork. Luckily, the Lasagna is an elite backup choice-the tomato sauce is incredibly rich & flavorful, making a perfect pairing with the complimentary bread. The Crab Rolls were also a massive hit for my husband. Highly recommend for the pasta & wine pairings!
Staff was friendly & welcoming. Lovely restaurant.& atmosphere. Unfortunately the food was just okay. Carpaccio was warm & seemed like it had been out for quite some time. More Brown than red. Although the sauce & the things on it were good. We were sent here by the hotel desk clerk. Place was packed. I'd give it a shot again.
Quelle belle expérience! Resto'boutique' selon moi, avec un accueil personnel & attentionné. Service impeccable de Claudia avec recommandations franches & pertinentes. Nous avions réservé pour 2 (couple) & le resto était plein (avec plus d'un service ce soir là). Un peu bruyant à cause de 3 groupes, mais parfaitement tolérable compte tenu de l'occupation.
Nourriture absolument mémorable, pas moins. Absolument délicieux, de l'entrée au dessert avec un bon choix de vins. Considérant l'endroit & la qualité de l'ensemble, des prix très convenables & raisonnables. Pour ma part, j'ai pu déguster les'Gamberi all Sambuca', un risotto aux crevettes, sauce crémeuse à la sambuca, comme plat principal…. OMG! OMG! Un délice à l'italienne. Recommendation absolue.
Comme nous fêtions également notre anniversaire (46ème!), le gérant Jean-Nicolas nous a gentiment offert un limoncello comme digestif. Somme toute, une belle soirée agréable & nous y retournerons assurément à notre prochaine visite dans le vieux Québec. Un incontournable selon moi. Merci à toute l'équipe du Il Matto.
Cuisine savoureuse, accueil & service impeccables & chaleureux. Atmosphère urbaine très agréable, on se sent bien en ville dans cette grande salle à manger aux plafonds très hauts. Le personnel croit en ses produits & l'équipe est rodée au quart de tour. Difficile de faire un choix au menu, tout est tentant. Les arancinis, bien croustillants à l'extérieur & tendres & fromagés à souhait à l'intérieur, accompagnés d'une sauce tomate de belle texture. Les bruschetta sont très généreuses & la tomate bien fraîche. Les escalopes de veau, marsala ou crème & champignons, sont délicieuses & leurs sauces, onctueuses & bien structurées & riches. Les pâtes en sauce à la crème accompagnent à merveille la viande. Pas de dessert cette fois-ci, ayant un peu abusé des mouillettes de pain dans l'huile d'olive & le balsamique. Sélection d'alcools impressionnante. Les amateurs de gin, entre autre, seront servis. Ce n'était pas notre première fois & on y reviendra, c'est certain ! Merci pour cette belle soirée.
There were 5 of us so we decided to order a lot of different plates & do family style. To start we got the Carpaccio Di Manzo, Bruschetta Di Pomodoro, & Insalata Di Rucola E Prosciutto Di Parma.
Second round was their signature Pappardelle al Funghi, Agnellotti, Scaloppina Di Vitello (Limone), & the Joue De Boeuf Braisée. The pappardelle was amazing & had plenty of mushrooms mixed in. The beef cheek was fork tender & melted in your mouth, paired with a dark au jou that was so flavorful. The agnelotti was tossed in a basil cream sauce that made your palate dance. The lemon veal was one of my favorite dishes of the night, covered in a creamy lemon pepper sauce.
For dessert we had the Bombas which were two fried donuts drizzled in a hot nutella sauce. We also had the Tiramisu & Tartufo, an Italian chocolate ice cream.
From start to end, the food & service was phenomenal. Thank you Matto for an evening I won't soon forget!
Really great experience. We had dinner here as guests of the hotel. Enjoyed the drinks (my fiance always gets espresso martinis & he loved theirs). Arancini app was amazing - delicious marinara sauce! We both loved our pasta (veal parm & manicotti). We saw the margherita pizza & had to try it... it was incredible. Seemed very authentic (I've been to Italy) & this is my fave kind of pizza. It was to die for. We did make a reservation so there was no wait. Overall a lovely dinner!
We were hopeful for a great meal. The eggplant parm was cold in the middle & the ossobuco came in a tomatoe sauce which was not very good.
The calamari was great, but the main meal left us disappointed.

Service incroyable! Beaucoup d'ambiance ! Moins aimé les agnolettis que la fois précédente, car moins généreux en sauce, mais c'était quand même très bon !
