The Sagamité opened its doors in 1999, and people from all over the world have been invited to discover Indigenous culture through gastronomy ever since. This place is named after the meal that has nourished the nation for centuries: the sagamité soup, which consists of corn, squash and beans. The restaurant is located in downtown Wendake.
The Saga Nomade Food Truck can be found all around Québec City and is also available for private events. Our specialties include our Signature poutine and our Elk burger. This is street food with an indigenous twist!

We went to Valcartier & came for the Dinner. Soups were delicious, Pizza as well, service was very pleasant & attentive both times! No complaints at all!

Wonderful experience overall.
We had the three-meats tower (Potence des Trois Panaches) with the accompanying menu. Everything was delicious, from the pastry to the soup, from the meat with side dishes to the delicious pecan pie for dessert. Service was fabulous.
Make sure you have plenty of time on your hands, our dinner took 2 & a half hours.
This restaurant is at less than half hour walk from the Wendat traditional village reconstruction, & it can constitute a logical extension of the site visit (& there is also the Huron-Wendat museum). The menu is based on traditional dishes (hence its name), we enjoyed the Sagamité soup (the 3 sisters: squash, corn & red beans). The venue is modern but full of relevant memorabilia, the staff was cordial & professional, food was very good, a little expensive (bill of CA$ 82 in two), but worthwhile.
Restaurant sur le thème autochtones. La carte met en valeur la venaison de cerf, bison & wapiti... A l'assiette ou sur une potence & flambée! Un spectacle en plus de la qualité des mets.
Service très agréable, le service etait un peu long mais il y avait du monde. Les serveurs expliquent bien la cartes.
Pour les entrés, la truite fumée est un délice, le foie gras cuit & très bien, cuisson & assaisonnement parfait. La terrine de wapiti & rillettes de canard très correcte. La soupe sagamité est un découverte intéressante.
Les médaillons de cerf & wapiti sont bons, les cuissons & assaisonnements sont bons. Les légumes sont un peu trop croquants à mon goût.
Au final l'expérience est intéressante. A refaire.
