The Sagamité opened its doors in 1999, and people from all over the world have been invited to discover Indigenous culture through gastronomy ever since. This place is named after the meal that has nourished the nation for centuries: the sagamité soup, which consists of corn, squash and beans. The restaurant is located in downtown Wendake.
The Saga Nomade Food Truck can be found all around Québec City and is also available for private events. Our specialties include our Signature poutine and our Elk burger. This is street food with an indigenous twist!

Pour un souper à 18h30, nous sommes allés en famille. Les enfants ont capoté avec les reconstitution d'animaux empaillé, castors & peaux de bêtes. C'est un très beau cadre. Leur spécialité est top. Les viandes y sont délicieuses. J'aime les horaires d'ouverture.

What a yummy unique experience! & Nadine who served us was so amazing with our two year old toddler. She kept wanting her to come back so she could talk to her more. The soup was so good, the children's menu was very generous & good (venison burger!) & the special experience was cool. Don't sleep on the dessert, especially the chocolate. Highly recommend!
Great experience & beautiful restaurant in Wendake.
I'm glad we made a reservation because it was quite busy. We arrived a little early, so we walked around & enjoyed the waterfalls nearby.
The food was a unique experience! The five-course potence, along with the appetizers & sides that accompanied it, was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the sagamité soup. The crème d'érable tart for dessert was creamy & not overly sweet-the perfect way to end a feast!
Our server was wonderful. She made us a fresh lemonade with maple syrup & gave us excellent recommendations.
My kids loved it & were very happy that we had the opportunity to try Indigenous cuisine.
We finished at the perfect time & then headed to Onhwa' Lumina.
Lors du Festival International Pow Wow de Wendake en 2026, j'ai eu l'occasion de découvrir un restaurant dont la décoration & l'ambiance m'ont véritablement charmé. L'accueil, bien que correct, laissait transparaître un certain stress & une fatigue chez quelques employés, probablement attribuables à l'affluence exceptionnelle due au festival, ce qui est compréhensible. Le service fut assez rapide, il n'a pas eu trop d'attente. Concernant les mets, j'ai apprécié la qualité des plats faits maison. Un léger bémol a été constaté au niveau de la poutine à la sauce bolognaise de viande de wapiti, où les frites n'étaient pas d'une fraîcheur optimale, malgré l'excellence de la sauce. En revanche, la salade César au saumon & canneberge ainsi que les nachos au canard confit étaient irréprochables & délicieux. Si vous êtes de passage, je recommande l'expérience pour ceux qui se trouvent à proximité. Mon intérêt est modéré plutôt qu'une destination culinaire à part entière. En conclusion, je peux dire que ce fut un contexte de découverte occasionnelle plutôt que d'un évènement marquant.
On est venu le matin de la fête des pères, c'était très bon, ça été rapide, notre serveur était super sympathique & à l'écoute de nos demande. Nous reviendrons !!
