Le décor est vraiment soigné !! On s'y sent bien!! Le service impeccable! La nourriture est excellente tout était wow à l l'exception de nos desserts c est la seule chose en effet car mon dessert à la mange était encore gelé oui gelé le centre ne pouvait pas être mangé ! dommage !! mon mari a reçu un gâteau forêt noir « déconstruit » ce n'est pas réussis ! Les morceaux de gâteaux éparpillés étaient racis globalement pas bon. Il faut dire que les desserts sont tout de même 14$ ch. on s'attend à se faire surprendre … en conclusion on n'hésite pas de retourner mais on ne prendra pas de dessert.

Quelle belle découverte! Un forfait avec l'hôtel Sepia des plus exquis! Salade de Quinoa fraîches & qui éveillés doucement les papillent. Crab cake avec une petit touche de salade de chou fondait en bouche. Les différents tartares, en entrés ou plats principales, St-Jacques tellement délicieux qu'un service n'est pas assez! Sans parler des desserts & du très bon service! Magnifique moment!

je suis un bon client des déjeuners & j'adore 🙂 mais j'ai été souper pour une première fois & j'ai été déçu 🤷♂️ particulièrement pour le prix demandé...le service a été impeccable comme toujours, la soupe bonne mais pas exceptionnelle, le repas bien mais pas exceptionel non plus, j'ai pris la bavette : la viande était délicieuse, la présentation soignée, les accompagnements étaient ordinaires, par contre pas assez de nourriture dans l'assiette. Pour le dessert, je n'ai pas aimé la verrine mais mon garçon a bien aimé la pomette. Tous les 2, à la fin, avions encore faim 🙄 mon fils a pris une entrée de terrine de canard qui lui a plu, nous avons aussi prit 2 rhum & le total de la facture 206$ ...😑 le prix ne me dérange pas, mais seulement pas impressionnés par l'expérience culinaire.
Ce n'est plus comme avant, voila une couple d'années. Entrée avec huitres mal nettoyés, plat principal poisson trop cuit, mais dessert bombe chocolat vraiment excellente. Service plus ou moins présent pour ajouter de l'eau ou du vin. Mais prix d'aujourd'hui. Pas une catastrophe, mais nous avons été déçu de notre souper d'anniversaire.
We went to Le Galopin, located inside Hotel Sepia. What a gem! Once we arrived, we were happily greeted by the staff & got seated quickly. Because this is a pretty upscale restaurant, there is quite a wait before the waiter comes to take our order. While waiting, we looked around the restaurant: quite small, elegant with a quiet & warm atmosphere. Our waiter was skilled & really nice. We began with the Sea & Charcuterie Board appetizer. Presentation is unmatched! The tastiest part was the thinly sliced octopus, it was out of this world! For the main course, I ordered the Smoked Duck & Game Tartare, since tartares are the restaurant's specialty. Let me tell you, it was unbelievably tasty! Melted in your mouth with ton of flavor. For the dessert, I got the Crême Brûlée, & I wasn't disappointed! Every part of this experience left me pleasantly surprised! Will definitely come back.
Moi & mon amie nous avons passer un très bon moment !!! Certes bien déçu que le gâteau que mon amie a apportez en take out étais moissi !!!!! Disons qua 15$ le dessert ses ordinaire.
J'apprécie que les serveurs prennent le temps de jaser avec la clientèle, mais il ne faut pas que cela vienne au détriment des autres. Nous avons été près de trois heures au restaurant & nous avons attendu près de 45 minutes après notre repas pour avoir la carte des desserts pour finalement ne pas en prendre puisque nous étions rendu les derniers. Ça en était un peu gênant. Nous aurions apprécié un meilleurs suivi auprès des tables. Le reste de l'expérience était grandement apprécié par contre. L'accueil, la nourriture, l'ambiance & la courtoisie était excellent.
A friend & I came across Galopin just by chance in November 2016. The restaurant was so unassuming, staff unobtrusive & subtle, yet so efficient & friendly. The meals we'd chosen blew us away. It was the best dinner experience for both of us in years.
Since then, I'd often recommended Galopin to friends who planned to travel to Quebec City.
This time I visited Quebec City with my spouse, it was a birthday weekend! The planned highlight: Dinner at the Galopin. I was looking forward to it with such expectation.
My wife is 100% non-alcoholic & is gluten free. We couldn't find gluten-free option that did not include alcohol. Wait staff didn't really seem to be motivated. We felt rushed, as if accommodating these needs would be asking too much.
So, her choices were very limited. Finally she settled on steak, which was ok - if on the cold side. We'd rate it at a 8/10. But this was the steak only.
I'd rate my own dinner at a 5/10. The starter (Sweetbreads) was a 6.5, the interim salad a joke [really a 'minus one'] as the lettunce leaves were dried out & flavourless, there was not enough dressing & ,in addition, our server did not even bother to ask if anything else was needed. My main dish was blood sausage with with scallops. The scallops were fine, but the additional items on the plate were rather flavorless (5 /10). The dessert was too dry & the apple flavor in the 6 little spots on the plate was recognisable, but just neglectable in dimension (3/ 10).
The Rose Vine (Portuguese) was fine & presented at the right temperature. A good choice. My coffee was excellent.
Given my high anticipation, it was a disastrous evening. I was so disappointed.
