About

Le Lapin Sauté centers its culinary focus on regional French preparations featuring rabbit as a signature element. The menu emphasizes locally sourced ingredients transformed through classic market cooking techniques. Diners encounter dishes like rabbit confit and braised cuts that showcase depth of flavor and traditional preparation methods. The architectural space utilizes exposed stone walls and wooden beams to define the interior atmosphere. Tables occupy a rustic environment that reflects a historical regional building style. The selection of poultry and game selections provides a cohesive narrative centered on seasonal offerings and farm to table sensibilities. Every plate maintains a strict adherence to authentic regional standards by highlighting the versatility of game meat in modern kitchen applications.

Review Summary

Le Lapin Sauté is widely celebrated as a charming, cozy, and quintessential destination in Old Quebec City, particularly favored for its authentic rabbit and duck specialties. Many visitors praise the restaurant for its warm, welcoming staff, impeccable service, and a picturesque patio perfect for people watching in the Petit Champlain district. While the majority of diners highlight the high quality of dishes like the rabbit poutine, cassoulet, and salted honey pie, some guests have noted inconsistencies in food preparation, occasional service delays, or a preference for larger portion sizes. Despite the high demand making reservations essential, most guests consider it a must-visit venue that captures a unique, intimate atmosphere suitable for families and romantic outings alike.

honestly a great restaurant if you want quality food! it is on the pricier side but if you wish to spend money to buy great food, this is the place. The'tout lapin tout canard' is a really great tasting plate to try every thing( it is not very large). Rabbit pot pie & Fondue are really tasty. Cozy atmosphere & enthusiastic servers❤?you also get free bread

The friendliest server recommended this spectacular duck & rabbit platter for two. The interior is small & cozy but it just adds to the atmosphere. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Food was amazing & the service was impeccable! I ordered the Rabbit Saddle & while the portion seemed a bit small, I left feeling completely full & it tasted incredible. The cocktail I had (The Rome'oh) was one of the best I've ever had & the atmosphere is super cozy & cute! I will absolutely be returning here next time I come to Quebec City!

The food was nice, except they forgot to wash their greens. I can still feel the sand between my teeth when I think about the evening. The server was quick to understand & empathize. She quickly offered 1 complimentary dessert for the sandy chard in 3 of our dishes.
My husband ordered a stuffed Lapin which he really liked. I ordered a grilled salmon which was good too.
We also ordered their mocktails & drinks which were good too.
The ambiance was very cozy. We sat outdoors. The old Quebec city streets are beautiful in the evening. We could see them from our seat 💜

?We had to make a reservation before arriving at dinner time. I absolutely loved the atmosphere; it was both cozy & vibrant.
?For starters, we had the French onion soup, followed by the Mushroom Ravioli & the Game Burger for our mains. The onion soup & ravioli were quite good. However, the burger had a very strong, gamey aroma; it honestly felt a bit like live stock with every bite. While the quality of the meat was clearly good, I've definitely had better burgers. If you prefer your meat to taste more neutral & dislike the strong smell of lamb fat or heavy beef, this might not be the burger for you.
?Service was also a bit on the slower side, with a pretty long wait between our starter & the main courses.
