Review Summary

Le Lapin Sauté is widely celebrated as a charming, cozy, and quintessential destination in Old Quebec City, particularly favored for its authentic rabbit and duck specialties. Many visitors praise the restaurant for its warm, welcoming staff, impeccable service, and a picturesque patio perfect for people watching in the Petit Champlain district. While the majority of diners highlight the high quality of dishes like the rabbit poutine, cassoulet, and salted honey pie, some guests have noted inconsistencies in food preparation, occasional service delays, or a preference for larger portion sizes. Despite the high demand making reservations essential, most guests consider it a must-visit venue that captures a unique, intimate atmosphere suitable for families and romantic outings alike.

Although the food was well prepared & flavorful, I would suggest a bit more seasoning on the cassoulet. Also, a little bit more attention on the preparation of the rabbit leg as I thought my portion was slightly dry. But still...very delicious.

Delicious rabbit & duck sausage cassoulet, rabbit pot pie, & three cheese dessert with jams & chutneys. Decent bottle of cotes du rhone. Very friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend!

Cassoulet was bland. Rest of the food was good. Wine was okay.

Très bon restaurant, joli cadre, jolie terrasse chauffée, la poutine à l'effiloché de lapin à la diable était excellente, le cassoulet au lapin également, les plats servis à la table voisine nous faisaient saliver aussi !

I enjoy eating rabbit & found all the story & info written about this restaurant so interesting that I wanted to try it. Glad we did. Overall it was good, the atmosphere lovely & great service. Our appetizer, The rabbit rilletes was delicious. I then had the rabbit saddle & my husband had the seafood Cassoulets ( at a rabbit restaurant). My rabbit was well cooked, tender & delicious. the parsnips delicious but the green beans overcooked. Overall glad I tried it but my dad still made the best rabbit to date, wish I had watched him more carefully.

Pas à la hauteur de nos attentes. Le plat (cassoulet) était froid & manquait de goût. Très déçu de notre expérience.

The cassoulet w/ duck sausage & rabbit leg was amazing, as was the rabbit saddle, the fondue, & maple creme brulee. Our waitress was very nice & attentive. Can't wait to come back soon!

Fantastic service! My husband enjoyed his cassoulet, unfortunately I did not like the seasoning of my pot pie.

We just loved this place! Servers were friendly & helpful. The mixed appetizer plates were fabulous & let you try a little bit of everything. The cassoulet was hearty & great even if I will admit it wasn't authentic French cassoulet - it was still very good. Our server suggested adding a second duck confit so I wouldn't have to share mine! Haha. We came back later that night for dessert because we were too full at lunch. Would highly recommend the honey pie! Ambience on the patio was lovely
