About

Le Lapin Sauté centers its culinary focus on regional French preparations featuring rabbit as a signature element. The menu emphasizes locally sourced ingredients transformed through classic market cooking techniques. Diners encounter dishes like rabbit confit and braised cuts that showcase depth of flavor and traditional preparation methods. The architectural space utilizes exposed stone walls and wooden beams to define the interior atmosphere. Tables occupy a rustic environment that reflects a historical regional building style. The selection of poultry and game selections provides a cohesive narrative centered on seasonal offerings and farm to table sensibilities. Every plate maintains a strict adherence to authentic regional standards by highlighting the versatility of game meat in modern kitchen applications.

Le Lapin Sauté is widely celebrated for its quaint and cozy atmosphere in the heart of Old Québec, offering a charming setting that makes diners feel like they are in a fairy tale. Many guests rave about the authentic culinary experience, particularly the signature rabbit and duck dishes, with the poutine, pot pie, and sharing platters receiving frequent praise for their flavor and generous portions. The restaurant is often noted for its attentive and friendly service, with many visitors highlighting the staff members who go above and beyond to provide a memorable, festive, and welcoming dining experience. Fantastic service! My husband enjoyed his cassoulet, unfortunately I did not like the seasoning of my pot pie.

We just loved this place! Servers were friendly & helpful. The mixed appetizer plates were fabulous & let you try a little bit of everything. The cassoulet was hearty & great even if I will admit it wasn't authentic French cassoulet - it was still very good. Our server suggested adding a second duck confit so I wouldn't have to share mine! Haha. We came back later that night for dessert because we were too full at lunch. Would highly recommend the honey pie! Ambience on the patio was lovely

Wonderful evening in this charming little spot. We enjoyed the shared appetizer featuring various preparations of duck & rabbit. Seafood cassoulet was divine as was the rabbit saddle. Our server was helpful & delightful. I definitely recommend a visit.

The fondue & Lapin rillette were delicious to start. All entrees were amazing...highlights were Lapin pot pie & seafood cassoulet. Don't skip the salted honey pie. So good! Our server Delphine was delightful. Thank you for a nice evening!

Old Quebec is one of the most charming places I've ever been, & Le Lapin Saute absolutely fits in with the locale. It's a small restaurant (especially with the patio closed), but we had reservations & our vaccine passports so we got a little table all to ourselves. I have Celiac Disease, & they have a separate gluten free menu with many delicious choices. I went with the Cassoulet & had some gluten free bread on the side. My husband had the French Onion Soup & the Rabbit Pot Pie which he said were amazing. An intimate, romantic, European-style restaurant that we will definitely be visiting again!
