The menu emphasizes locally sourced ingredients transformed through classic market cooking techniques. Diners encounter dishes like rabbit confit and braised cuts that showcase depth of flavor and traditional preparation methods. The architectural space utilizes exposed stone walls and wooden beams to define the interior atmosphere. Tables occupy a rustic environment that reflects a historical regional building style. Review Summary

Le Lapin Sauté is widely celebrated as a charming, cozy, and quintessential destination in Old Quebec City, particularly favored for its authentic rabbit and duck specialties. Many visitors praise the restaurant for its warm, welcoming staff, impeccable service, and a picturesque patio perfect for people watching in the Petit Champlain district. While the majority of diners highlight the high quality of dishes like the rabbit poutine, cassoulet, and salted honey pie, some guests have noted inconsistencies in food preparation, occasional service delays, or a preference for larger portion sizes. Despite the high demand making reservations essential, most guests consider it a must-visit venue that captures a unique, intimate atmosphere suitable for families and romantic outings alike.

If you love rabbit this is the place to go!! the atmosphere is so cute, a little small on the inside but they also have seating outside. I had the rabbit poutine & it was pretty good for someone who isn't a fan of rabbit.

It's a cute little restaurant but idk. I'll preface this by saying it's known for its rabbit & I don't eat rabbit. I had the onion soup, which I found to lack any flavor, onion, & broth, it was very bread & cheese forward & not what I was looking for. I then had the grilled cheese, which was…fine. I appreciated the thin bread so the bread didn't take over, but could have used more cheese; it's a grilled cheese after all. The fries & side salad were very good. I finished things off with the crème brûlée which was pretty clearly preprepared but fine. Overall my meal was fine but not the 4.6 stars the restaurant has.

This is a quaint gem! It's just like out of a fairytale. Because where I am from I rarely get the opportunity to eat rabbit, I jumped at the chance to eat here. The staff was super welcoming & I was seated right away. I had looked at the menu online. The rabbit pot pie stood out to me. It was beautifully presented, perfect portion size & was accompanied by a little salad. Everything was delicious. What a delightful treat dining here was. I'd even say a magical experience!

While the portions felt a bit small for the price, the flavors truly stood out. The poutine with rabbit was rich & delicious, & the crème brûlée was exceptional. The atmosphere was cozy & inviting, & the staff were incredibly warm & welcoming. Overall, a memorable dining experience with standout dishes!

Amazing place, food was delicious, service was great. It was recommended by a local I met at the gate right before boarding to Quebec. We had a big dish to share that had a mix of rabbit, duck, liver pate & vegetables. It was really great.

The place seems to be busy all the time, but we were lucky to get a table after about a 10-minute wait. The staff were helpful & accommodating - they quickly found us a new table when it started raining (our first one had no cover) & brought a straw for the mocktail upon request.

We ordered two different rabbit dishes, & both were absolutely delicious. However, the food took quite a while to arrive, & unfortunately, the soup we ordered never came - most likely just an oversight.

Overall, it's a nice spot with great food, but perhaps not the best choice if you're short on time.

Ordered the cheese plate, rabbit pot pie & creme brulee. All three were excellent! We sat on the patio, & it was a lovely evening.
