Our waiter Sam was incredibly knowledgeable not only about every aspect of the menu but he also has a great knowledge of the building's history which was super cool to learn about! It's 350 years old, the oldest building in town which is super cool! We really enjoyed the atmosphere in the old house environment & were so happy we got seated upstairs by the fireplace with all the fun old decor & unique construction. It is so quaint & the food was amazing! My husband tried the meat pie & meatballs & I tried the bison with blueberry wine sauce. We also tried the caramel maple bread pudding & blueberry pie for dessert. Everything was great! We will definitely come back here again! A+++
The restaurant is only over 60 years old but in a building that is over 300 years old. The atmosphere is so warm & comfy with the service being exceptional. If you are a tourist in Quebec & want to try some of the local dishes, this is a place I recommend without breaking the bank & being authentic & flavourful at the same time. My kids enjoyed the meals by the fireplace & will always be a great memory for us visiting Quebec.
Beautiful old building with wood carvings on the main level restaurant. We were a party of 9 seated in a private room on the second floor. Unfortunately the chicken cordon bleu & the salmon were overcooked. Our friends who has tortierre & other traditional dishes were very pleased.
This is one of the oldest restaurants in Canada. The food was excellent & the atmosphere of the old building was wonderful.
I received information from a tour that the building is one oldest in old Quebec. I just had to go in & give the place a try. The place is small with low ceiling but it is very charming. I got the lunch special just a little over $45CAD before taxes. If you're looking for a traditional meal (recommended by the staff) then I highly recommend you give this place a try 👍
The place is a gem! The food & staff are top notch & the building is rich with history. Great for big groups.
