Wanted to experience authentic Quebecois cuisine, went here. It is a quiet spot with plenty of space per table, you are not crowded. Server was the most pleasant young woman ever, 5 star. I had an appetizer, the meat pie, which was really good. My sister had the meat pie/tourtiere plate with beans & other sides, the size serving she got was the same as my appetizer. I also got the onion soup which was OK, but the cheese somewhat gritty, I don't know what sort of cheese goes in Quebecois onion soup, but not what I was expecting. My sister got a buffalo steak dish with blueberry sauce, which she said was good. Glad we came, but we decided true Quebecois cuisine is not our favorite type of cuisine, it is very heavy. You only need a very few bites.

My hubby is from Quebec & he wanted an authentic Canadian meal & this place did not disappoint. The food was fantastic & we got their lunch special soup /appetizer starter with entry a beer & dessert all included & a lot of wonderful food. The pie was to die for as well thank you for making us feel back home again after being away for so long. I love also the decor & the vintage dresses on the server it was being in a different time. Do your self a favor & have lunch here you will have no regrets. Enjoy & Viva Quebec

Had a lovely experience here with a super nice & bubbly waitress.

The food is very comforting with a lovely Québec cooking. Had the poutine with duck & the 3 cuts of meat. Although pricy, the quality really makes up for it.

Lastly we had the maple pie which was the highlight of being extremely sweet & nice with the cream balancing it out.

The atmosphere was truly a delight too, eating in a homely location.

dinner here was a strange, wonderful experience. the atmosphere, in a truly old building with haphazard decor, is eclectic & homely. the service was friendly, kind, & full of humour from start to finish. we really liked jacob, who took good care of us. the food was thoughtful & felt nourishing to the body & soul. we defaulted to the most quebec-y options & loved every course, from the pea soup to the meat pie to the maple syrup pie. it felt like eating chez mamie. full of good food, we couldn't help but encourage some fellow tourists on the sidewalk to go in & eat immediately! it was easily the most expensive meal we had all weekend, but we had zero regrets.

Overall: 4-5/10 - friendly service, disappointing food.

I chose the fixed?price menu, which looked like great value at first glance. In reality, the meal felt random & didn't come together as a coherent plate.

The main course - Grandma's Treat, a Québec meat pie (seemed mostly pork) - arrived with a mix of sides that didn't complement each other: meatballs with gravy, vegetables, potatoes, beetroot, sweet ketchup, & beans with molasses. I'm not used to meat dishes being paired with sugary components, & the sweetness clashed with the savoury elements in a way that made the whole dish feel unbalanced & heavy.

About 40 minutes after eating, I felt queasy - very unusual for me, as I normally enjoy all kinds of food. The flavours were muddled, the textures didn't work, & the overall preparation didn't sit right.

To be fair, the service was genuinely pleasant. Our waiter was friendly, chatty, & made the experience feel welcoming. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the warmth of the service.

The restaurant has charm, but based on this meal, I wouldn't return.

We really enjoyed this restaurant in the heart of Old Quebec! The food was absolutely amazing! We tried two soups, split pea & the chef's soup, both delicious! We devoured them immediately, so no pictures, sadly. We shared the grandma's plate with meat pie & a variety of sides, everything was so full of flavor & incredibly delicious! For dessert, we had thr Maple Syrup Pie & the Maple Syrup Bread Pudding, amazingly packed with flavor!
Our server was very attentive, cheerful & ready to fill our water glasses each time he stopped at the table. We felt very spoiled by his friendly attention.
The atmosphere is extremely charming, combining old & modern features & decor. & don't miss the bathrooms! A cute little closet with unique features!
Highly recommended this spot, its the oldest French building in Quebec & offers amazing food & service!

Very nice overall & the lunch special is $40 with wine, entree & a maple syrup pie. I feel that I drank a whole bottle of maple syrup eating the pie, but it was so good that I'm still think about it a week later.

We had a Cesar salad, Gramma's special (meatballs & meat pie) & Salmon pastry with veggies.
The food was good. I really wish it wasn't either 4 or 5 stars. This would be 4.3.
Service was good - seems quite standard in Quebec's tourist areas.
The building is unique, old & has a great atmosphere.

Charming waiter, great historic vibe. The food lost one star as I found the duck confit on the salad (even though warmed) to be a little dry. The dessert however, maple syrup pie was 6 🌟!
