I would 100% recommend this place. It is absolute heaven for people who love baked goods. I got croissants & baguettes for breakfast & both were delicious.
Baked goods were excellent! We tried a few things & they were all very good. Can be super busy at times but their service was quick. Highly recommended when you're in Quebec city.
After a nice walk through the streets of Old Quebec, it's time to take a break for a snack or lunch. I highly recommend trying their sandwiches, which are both delicious & flavorful. The staff is welcoming & friendly, & the spacious dining area offers a comfortable place to eat & relax while enjoying a good cup of coffee.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Paillard is an absolute gem & a must-visit for anyone in Quebec City! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm, inviting atmosphere & the aroma of freshly baked goods. Their pastries are nothing short of exceptional-crispy, flaky, & packed with flavor. Whether it's their buttery croissants or their decadent éclairs, everything tastes fresh & crafted with care. Paillard's menu offers something for everyone, from delicious sandwiches to gourmet coffees, making it a perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon treat. The quality of the ingredients shines through in every bite, & the attention to detail in both preparation & presentation is top-notch. The service is friendly & efficient, even during busy times. The staff is always eager to help with recommendations, & the overall experience is both welcoming & relaxed. Paillard combines quality, authenticity, & charm, making it a standout spot in the heart of the city. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Paillard is a place you'll want to return to again & again. Highly recommended for an unforgettable bakery & café experience!
A MUST go while in Quebec city. I had gone back to this place three or four times while I was visiting. Must try the pistachio cookie. Everything else we ordered was great, croissants, eclairs, etc. Expect longer lines & would recommend grabbing coffee at a different place.
All pastries & croissants look amazing, had a cappuccino to enjoy with my butter croissant, highly recommend it. Service was fast & efficient/friendly. It is expensive, but your also buying great croissants. Came out of town had to try them again, bring a canvas bag if your taking out a paper bag is $3.30!
The food is great, if the staff gave you the right order! Highly recommend the berries croissant, cheese croissant, & eclairs. Their washroom is an abomination, do not go in there.
The plain croissants were ok, but the "fresh"raspeberries on a pastry my child bought were full of black mold. She recognized this after she took her first bite. When my wife tried to exchange it/make the counter staff aware, they said the pastry underneath was fine & that we should just eat around the berries!!! Luckily they changed their tune after we asked them to consult someone else behind the counter. The place itself desperately needs an update/reno (eg washroom was filthy, which is never a good sign for a restaurant). Overall disappointed- we were last here 14 years ago when they won "best croissant in QC". We had shared several memorable Paillard pastries. Visiting QC again this year we had been excited to return :-(. Unfortunately we can no longer recommend it.
