It was a nice large set up. Good if you're looking for a break from the business of the street outside. The food is not top notch (sort of what you'd get from chain coffee shop) but that's not necessarily a deal breaker. Although I will say the ham & cheese croissant was good. I would still return.
Dec2024 Homey & casual pastry, bakery & coffee shop in this busy shopping street of Upper Town which offers a wide spectrum of cafes & food establishments for all types of budgets.
Paillard in Quebec City is absolutely delightful! The charming holiday decorations & cozy atmosphere. Whether you're stopping by for pastries, sandwiches, or coffee, Paillard is a must-visit spot!
Oh my gosh! The Almond Croissant & the Suisse pastry are so deliciously divine!
We went in to get mille-feuille, which was excellent. But what stood out was the service. We went in at noon & got some take away goodies, we opened the box in the evening only to realize that two of the pastries were missing. We told them about it & didn't really have a receipt, but the manager stepped in, & gave us the missing pastries at 6pm. It was a wonderful experience & we were very touched by the gesture.
Did a massive croissant taste test during my stay in Quebec, & these croissants were good but definitely not the best in the city. Massive space makes it easy to find a seat & rest your tired feet. Pastries are all above average & meals are reasonable in an expensive area in the city. See my other reviews for best pastries in Quebec City.
This place always has amazing stuff. We had a sandwich & the paillard millefeuille. Highly recommended.
